Visitor information

The Museum is open from 2pm to 5pm each Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from Easter until the end of October.

(Our Curator will be pleased to arrange visits at other times for parties or for special research.)

There is no charge for admission during normal opening hours. The full address is:

Tom Brown's School Museum
Broad Street
Uffington
Oxfordshire

Because of the size of the museum, we are unable to provide refreshments or toilet facilities.

There are four pubs in or close to Uffington: the Fox and Hounds in Uffington itself, the White Horse at Woolstone, the Blowing Stone at Kingston Lisle, and the Woodman at Fernham.

The nearby market towns Wantage and Faringdon each have a full range of local services.

On summer Sunday afternoons there are cream teas at St Mary's Church, next door to the Museum.

If you have your own transport the area is easily approached from the A420 Swindon to Oxford road or from Wantage. From either direction follow the brown tourist signs towards the White Horse, then the signposts for Uffington.

Alternatively the minor road from Lambourn to Kingston Lisle offers a route with delightful views, and crosses the Ridgeway and passes the Blowing Stone. At Kingston Lisle follow the signs for Uffington.

At Uffington village (see map), follow the High Street and Broad Street to the church, and you will find the Museum about 50 metres along the road from the church at the junction of Broad Street and the Fernham Road.

Information on public transport is available here.
